2008 proved to be a busy year for all the volunteers of the OR&N 197. Some of the major accomplishments include:
fabrication of new cab
new fuel tank enclosure
painted the drivers
installation of the side rods

Friends of OR&N 197 is an all volunteer organization dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the former Oregon Railroad & Navigation Company 197 steam locomotive.
Volunteer Dale Birkholz works preparing the side rods for installation. Friends of The OR&N 197 is a member of the Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation (ORHF).
